Dr. Scott Selby was born and raised in Villa Park, Illinois. He graduated from Willowbrook High School in 1984. A painful shoulder condition forced him to give up pitching baseball. The experience gave him the desire to help others who suffer with conditions that are difficult to diagnose and treat. He chose chiropractic medicine as a way to offer alternative solutions to complex medical problems.

After completing his pre-med. course work at the College of DuPage with highest honors, he attended Western States Chiropractic College in beautiful Portland, Oregon. He graduated summa cum laude in 1991.  After a one-year associateship in rural Mt. Angel, Oregon, he worked as a clinical resident within the outpatient clinic of Western States Chiropractic College. During that 2-year period, he served as the resident/assistant to senior staff clinician/chiropractic orthopedist, Ravid Raphael, DC, DABCO.  Dr. Selby also served as teaching assistant within the doctor of chiropractic medicine program.

In 1993, he completed course work and testing which led to certification with the American Chiropractic Association Sports Council as a chiropractic sports physician (CCSP) and has since completed nearly 300 hours of postgraduate training in sports injuries towards completion of a Diplomate level certification.  He has completed 200 postgraduate hours of training in rehabilitative medicine.

In 1994, he established and maintained a private practice in Gresham, Oregon prior to returning home to Illinois in 1995 to be closer to his family and to accept a clinician/mentor position at the former National College of Chiropractic in Lombard, Illinois (currently the National University of Health Sciences).

In the fall of 2000, he established a private practice in Naperville, Illinois and later joined Physical Medicine Associates where he continues to see patients on a weekly basis.

Dr. Selby accepted an invitation to return to NUHS in the spring of 2001 where he currently serves as adjunct faculty in the department of diagnosis along with supervising/mentoring student interns involved in patient care rotations in the campus outpatient clinic.

Since 2003, Dr. Selby has served as team physician/consultant for (Wheaton) St. Francis High School’s cross country and track programs under the direction of coach Scott Nelson.

Head athletic trainer, Greg Evans, appointed him to serve as the chiropractic physician for the Wheaton College athletic training department in the fall of 2007.

Blanchard Alliance Church (Wheaton) has been his home for spiritual development for the past 10 years and continues to be a place of deep and meaningful fellowship.
