Dr. Carrie Stisser, D.C. - Naperville Chiropractor
Born and raised in Ottawa, Illinois, Dr. Carrie Stisser became interested in chiropractic at the young age of 14 when she first began receiving chiropractic care, after being treated for a dance related injury. Dr. Stisser has always been interested in health and fitness, but it was her many years in dance training that led her to chiropractic and sparked her fascination of the intricacies of the human body and biomechanics. Dr. Stisser received her Bachelor of Science in Biology at University of Iowa, where she was an active leader on campus and in the community. Following her undergraduate education, she graduated Cum Laude with her Doctorate of Chiropractic from National University of Health Sciences in Lombard, Illinois. She is a member of Alpha Chi Omega National Fraternity, Phi Eta Sigma National Honor Society, National Society of Collegiate Scholars and Who’s Who Among American Colleges and Universities. While in school, Dr. Stisser was active in numerous clubs and organizations and received much recognition via scholastic honors and awards. At Physical Medicine Associates, Dr. Stisser enjoys practicing Rehabilitation Chiropractic, where she focuses on injuries and conditions unique to the active patient, as well as promoting principles of physical fitness. She enjoys working with all ages, spending much time educating her patients about their health, options for health care and causative factors of pain and injury. She empowers her patients to take an active role in their health care, teaching them corrective measures so as to prevent recurrence of injuries. Each patient is a unique individual with different needs, goals and capacities. Dr. Stisser strives to honor this by providing personalized and comprehensive treatment with respect and empathy. In addition to working with people of all ages and activities, Dr. Stisser also enjoys working with dancers. She has a history of dance training, performing and teaching and has been a staff member for National Cheerleading Association Danz Division. She is a member of the International Association of Dance Medicine and Science and has received special training in working with dance specific injuries through Harkness Center for Dance Injury and NYU Hospital for Joint Diseases. She is available to speak with Dance Teams and Performing Arts Groups about injury prevention and specific injury care unique to these individuals. Outside of chiropractic, Dr. Stisser’s personal interests include exercise, travel, reading, volunteering in the community and through her church, Iowa football, crafting hobbies and spending time with her friends and family.
